How To Clean Your Toilet The Right Way In Your Bathroom

Materials Needed

  • Rubber gloves
  • Toilet brush
  • Cleaning solution (e.g. bleach)
  • Microfiber cloth
  • Old toothbrush

Step 1: Put On Gloves

Wear rubber gloves before beginning to clean, to avoid any chance of spreading germs.

Step 2: Scrub The Bowl and Base

To remove any dirt or debris, use a toilet brush to scrub inside and around the bowl, as well as above and just outside the base of the toilet.

Step 3: Apply Cleaning Solution

To kill any germs and bacteria, spray or pour a cleaning solution inside the bowl and around its base. Let it sit for a few minutes.

Step 4: Wipe Down The Toilet

Using a clean, microfiber cloth, wipe down the exterior of the toilet, including the lid and seat. Be sure to rinse the cloth between wipes.

Step 5: Scrub The Rim and Hinges

Use an old toothbrush to scrub around the rim of the bowl, and any hard-to-reach areas, like hinges or handles.

Step 6: Flush

Once you've finished scrubbing and wiping down the toilet, flush it to get rid of any cleaning solution.
